About the Role:

The Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) is seeking a highly skilled Project Management Lead to join our team and support the development and delivery of projects related to Integrated Water Management. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with the Environment Agency, United Utilities, and local authorities to achieve the outcomes and priorities outlined in the Annual Business Plan and devolution deal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage water resources to prevent rainwater from entering the combined sewage system, reducing surface water flood risk and improving water quality.
  • Develop and deliver projects to achieve the outcomes and priorities outlined in the Annual Business Plan and devolution deal.
  • Collaborate with the trilateral partnership and local authorities to support the development and delivery of projects.
  • Manage projects through business case gateways, including Initiation, Analysis, Appraisal, and Approval.
  • Develop effective partnerships with senior management, stakeholders, and local government.

Requirements:

  • Proven project lead management capability on complex projects using a range of water sector solutions.
  • Experience of managing projects through business case gateways.
  • Understanding of the water sector and current industry challenges, including climate change, population growth, aging infrastructure, and regulatory pressures.
  • Experience of working within teams and with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Understanding of local government, the water industry, and Environment Agency decision-making processes.
