Job Title: Senior Scientist - Process Chemistry

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Scientist to join our Drug Substance Development (DSD) Chemistry team in Stevenage. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and performing synthetic organic chemistry and biotransformation experiments to meet project timelines and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and perform experiments to develop new synthetic routes and process understanding.
  • Think creatively to generate original ideas for simplifying process problems.
  • Communicate experimental work effectively at internal and external meetings.
  • Participate in technology transfer activities with manufacturing partners and other parts of R&D.
  • Author or contribute to regulatory submissions, patents, and scientific papers.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
  • Experience in practical synthetic organic or biotransformation chemistry.
  • Strong experimental skills and ability to work in a multi-functional team.
  • Practical familiarity with analytical techniques such as HPLC, NMR, and LCMS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in large-scale chemical synthesis.
  • Reaction optimisation through high-throughput experimentation.
  • Experience in data programming, data visualisation, and modelling.
