About the Role
We are seeking two Support Workers to join our team to provide care and support to a 55-year-old gentleman with Motor Neurone Disease. The role is a job share, working 15 hours per week, with flexible hours to be discussed at interview.
About the Gentleman
The gentleman has a strong interest in history and requires support with daily living tasks, including toileting, showering, dressing, meal preparation, feeding, and mobility assistance with his electrical or manual wheelchair.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support to the gentleman, including toileting, showering, and dressing
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding
- Accompany the gentleman on walks and provide mobility assistance
- Monitor and report any changes in the gentleman's condition or needs
- Communicate effectively with the gentleman, his family, and other healthcare professionals
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving is preferred but not essential
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing schedules and patient needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect the gentleman's dignity and autonomy
