PMLD Teaching Assistant Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PMLD Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist SEN school in Feltham, Southwest London. The successful candidate will have a strong background in supporting students with complex learning difficulties and a passion for delivering high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support primary aged students with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties, including those with a secondary diagnosis of ASD.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Provide specialist support to students with complex learning needs, including those who require a high level of physical and emotional support.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the social, emotional, and academic development of all students.
About the School:

Our school is a specialist SEN school that provides education to primary aged children with PMLD (and ASD in some cases). We are rated 'Good' with OFSTED and are committed to delivering high-quality education to our students. Our school is easily accessible by public transport, making it an ideal location for those who rely on buses and trains.

Requirements:
  • Experience working as an SEN TA in a PMLD school or an ASD school with a strong understanding of complex learning difficulties.
  • Strong knowledge of PMLD and ASD, including the ability to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the teaching team and other professionals.
  • Ability to provide high-quality support to students with complex learning needs, including those who require a high level of physical and emotional support.
