Job Title: Mechanical Crane Engineer

Job Description

As a skilled Mechanical Crane Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our overhead cranes. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting preventive and corrective maintenance, performing high-quality mechanical repairs, and contributing to the design and production of spare parts.

Responsibilities:
  • Uphold Health, Safety, and Environmental standards in compliance with our IMS procedures and PPE guidelines.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on Overhead Travelling Cranes.
  • Perform high-quality mechanical repairs based on existing schematics within set timelines.
  • Contribute to the design and production of spare parts for cranes.
  • Engage in the refurbishment of current machinery.
  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, enhancing safety and cleanliness within the Crane Maintenance Team.
  • Perform additional duties in Workshops, auxiliary plants, and during downshifts as needed.
  • Conduct Zone Safety audits and Risk assessments in accordance with our Safety Sub Plan.

Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in the steel or construction industry as a seasoned fitter.
  • Possession of an NVQ level 3 in Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication abilities.
  • Teamwork within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Strong risk assessment skills and the confidence to address safety concerns.
