Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the effective performance of the radiotherapy team, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Create a positive and supportive environment for all clinical, medical physics, diagnostic, and radiotherapy staff to work effectively together as a team.
  • Ensure that clinical protocols, policies, and procedures are followed and operate in full compliance.

  • Ensure that GenesisCare clinical audit, radiation protection, MR safety, and quality assurance requirements are met.
  • Ensure that compliments are recorded alongside any incidents or complaints that are also thoroughly and properly investigated, and that the necessary safeguards are taken to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop effective working relationships with all key stakeholders, including patients and their carers, clinicians and their colleagues, investors and funders, partnership organisations, cancer charities, and suppliers.
  • Support the ongoing improvement and continuous development of the care and services provided within the centre and to promote the ongoing success of the company.
  • Contribute to the growth and progress of the radiotherapy service as requested by the Lead Therapy Radiographer, taking an active clinical role in all areas of the patient pathway.
  • Pro-actively maintain own continuing professional development (CPD) in accordance with GenesisCare and HCPC professional standards.
  • Work out of hours as required to ensure that breakdowns or crises are resolved with minimum impact to service and treatments.
  • Participate in the development of imaging and treatment protocols in conjunction with the Lead Therapy Radiographer, Physics, Dosimetry, and other staff as required to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient use of all radiotherapy platforms.
  • Participate and collaborate in research and clinical trials activity to ensure GenesisCare is contributing to the radiotherapy evidence base, and in so doing promotes GenesisCare within the UK and abroad as a leader in the radiotherapy field.
  • Support all workflows by engaging with Dosimetrists, Clinical Oncologists, MR Radiologists, and Researchers to ensure the radiotherapy service is at the forefront of clinical and technical service delivery, including Hypofractionation, Dose Escalation, and Dose Adapted Radiotherapy delivery strategies.
