Role Overview

To contribute to the success of Vox Network Consultants, we are seeking a highly skilled Litigation Legal Officer to join our team. As a key member of our legal services department, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality legal services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct a personal workload of disrepair cases and ensure timely compliance with applicable deadlines.
  • Respond to pre-action letters, instruct expert witnesses, and advise on quantum for damages.
  • Brief Counsel in accordance with our legal services procedures and attend conferences as necessary.
  • Research and advise client officers on legal matters.
  • Represent the Council in the County Court, Magistrates Court, and other Tribunals.
  • Provide support to our solicitors in the Litigation team.
  • Assist in the development of policy and procedures in the Litigation team.
Requirements
  • Law Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience working in a council or housing association is preferred.
  • Desirable to have experience of civil litigation within a Local Government setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to represent the Council in various settings.
Contract Details

We offer an initial 3 to 6 month contract with the opportunity for extension. Pay is negotiable depending on experience, and we provide PAYE via Umbrella. Our working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with hybrid working arrangements (office once per week/fortnight).
