Research Microbiologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Microbiologist to join our team at Bionow, a leading biotechnology company based in the UK.
As a Senior Microbiologist, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of experimental techniques to evaluate developmental compounds. This will include bacterial susceptibility testing, cytotoxicity profiling, cell culture, mode of action studies, enzyme assays, and molecular microbiology.
You will also be required to develop and validate innovative in vitro biological assays, contribute to the management of drug development programs, and lead the publication of scientific research articles.
In addition to your technical expertise, you will be expected to maintain good housekeeping, perform careful and thorough bench work, keep accurate records of experimental work, and report as required.
Effective communication of data to internal and external stakeholders is also essential, as is the maintenance of data storage systems and routine lab maintenance.
To succeed in this role, you will need a minimum of an MSc or PhD in an area of study pertinent to the role, with experience in microbiology and drug discovery being essential.
Familiarity with mammalian cell culture and/or molecular microbiology would be advantageous, as would good interpersonal skills and teamwork.
The estimated salary for this role is £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
