Job Title: Victim Services Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Victim Services Officer to join our team at the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner's Office. As a key member of our Victim Services team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of our Commissioning Strategy, which is driven by the priorities in our Police and Crime Plan.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the management and monitoring of services, commissioning new services, and leading on key initiatives. You will work closely with stakeholders, including service providers, to ensure that victims of crime receive a high-quality service. Your excellent planning and organisational skills, combined with your experience of working with a range of stakeholders, will enable you to make a significant contribution to our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Victim Services Team in the management and monitoring of services.
  • Support the team in the commissioning of new services.
  • Lead on key initiatives, including service development and improvement.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate sound judgement, decision-making, negotiating, and influencing skills. You will also need to have experience of developing collaborative working relationships with partners, as well as the ability to work on your own initiative, prioritise tasks, and respond flexibly to changing demands. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to deal with members of the public sensitively. You will also need to have experience of working with Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as knowledge of commissioning public sector services, including monitoring and management of service delivery.
