About the Role:

This is a key mechanical position within our organization, responsible for repairing and overhauling aircraft wheels and brakes to ensure they are released into service. All parts will be identified and controlled by querying work orders and various computer systems to determine work scope.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and understand work instructions, maintenance manuals, and customer specification requirements.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of process operating procedures, paperwork, and parts control.
  • Understand and carry out inspections of component and structural aircraft wheel & brake parts.
  • Perform preassembly inspections and assembly of aircraft wheel hubs.
  • Mount aircraft tires.
  • Disassemble and clean aircraft brake components.
  • Operate steel shot blast machines.
  • Operate media blast machines.
  • Perform pressure testing of aircraft brake assemblies.
  • Understand and adhere to risk assessments associated with tasks, including any Task Risk Assessment or CoSHH Assessment referenced in work instructions.
  • Work accurately and efficiently on individual assignments or as an active team member.

Requirements:

  • English and Math GCSE or equivalent.

We are seeking an individual with 3 or more years of experience in a related field in a high-production, fast-paced environment.

Desirable Skills:

  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and technical publications to perform duties in compliance with customer requirements.
  • General knowledge of precision measuring tools with skills and prior work experience in hydraulics or pneumatics, knowledgeable in an electronic environment.
