Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Special Educational Needs

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at a school in Salisbury, Wiltshire. The successful candidate will work with pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, providing individualized support and promoting emotional wellbeing and social skills.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan and support pupils with SEMH needs to reach their potential in a professional and caring manner
  • Be reliable and punctual when working individually in the community or as part of a team, supporting colleagues to do their jobs
  • Actively participate in play and youth activities, including swimming, ball games, music and more
  • Communicate effectively with a range of people, including pupils, staff and parents
  • Keep accurate records and write reports as required
  • Ensure the highest level of safety and safeguarding at all times

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs is preferred but not necessary
  • Transferable skills, such as patience, empathy and good communication skills, are essential
  • Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team
  • Commitment to providing the highest standards of care and facilitating opportunities for learning
