Job Title: Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Advisor to join our team in Southampton.

As an HSE Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and stakeholders. Your primary responsibility will be to assess and mitigate potential risks associated with our operations, develop and implement effective health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures, and provide guidance and support to colleagues on HSE matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and guide colleagues on various HSE matters, including risk assessments, incident investigations, and training programs
  • Benchmark and audit our existing policies, processes, and systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices
  • Develop and implement effective HSE strategies and initiatives to drive continuous improvement and excellence
  • Provide expertise and guidance on HSE-related matters, including COSHH assessments, safety data sheets, and new starter inductions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of HSE principles into our business operations
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
  • Develop and maintain accurate records and reports related to HSE performance and metrics
  • Engage with stakeholders, including employees, contractors, and customers, to promote a positive HSE culture and awareness
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance and best practice

Requirements:

  • Possess a degree in a relevant field, such as occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related discipline
  • Hold a recognized certification in HSE management, such as NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 6
  • Have a minimum of 5 years' experience in HSE management, with a proven track record of delivering HSE improvements and excellence
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Hold a valid SC level clearance and be willing to undergo additional security vetting as required
