Dumbarton, West Dunbartonshire, United Kingdom Cornerstone Full time

We are seeking a dedicated Care Support Specialist to join our team at Cornerstone, providing support for individuals with complex care needs in Dumbarton.

The successful candidate will work directly with individuals, supporting them to manage their own homes, increase and maintain their independence, and encourage and support them with their social, health, and wellbeing needs.

This varied role involves supporting individuals with all aspects of daily living, including cooking, attending activities and appointments, managing personal finances, assisting with medication and personal care.

You will also be required to work in partnership with a multi-disciplinary team and the individual's families and guardians to ensure each individual has a robust and outcome-focused support plan.

In addition to working directly with individuals, you will need to bring creativity and enthusiasm into supporting them to access leisure activities, engage in meaningful activities, and take part in hobbies and interests that are important to them, both within their home and out in their local communities.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have previous experience of providing care and support to adults with learning disabilities and/or of working in a forensic service. You will also require excellent communication skills (verbal, listening, and written) and numeracy skills to ensure accurate records are kept.

A full, clean driving license would be beneficial as some individuals have their own mobility cars and enjoy going out for drives, but this is not a requirement.

The estimated salary for this position is approximately £23,000 - £28,000 per annum, depending on experience.

We offer a range of benefits, including training and development opportunities, flexible working hours, and a supportive team environment.
