Job Title: Business Manager

Thalia Waste Management is seeking a seasoned Business Manager to lead our trade waste business on the Isle of Wight. This exciting opportunity is perfect for a strategic leader who can drive business growth, manage operations, and develop strong client partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage Thalia's trade waste business on the Isle of Wight, ensuring operational excellence and driving business growth.
  • Develop and implement business strategies that align operational management with long-term growth objectives.
  • Work closely with the sales team to maximize business potential, focusing on operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with clients, ensuring Thalia remains a trusted partner in delivering innovative, environmentally responsible waste solutions.
  • Oversee the management of operational budgets, ensuring cost-effective strategies that support business growth and profitability.
  • Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure that operational and business targets are met or exceeded.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in leading business development, preferably in waste management or a related sector.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of building, motivating, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify growth opportunities and implement long-term business plans.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in managing budgets and operational costs.
  • Committed to environmental stewardship and delivering sustainable business practices.

We operate the best technology available across our four strategic sites in North Yorkshire, Milton Keynes, Cambridgeshire and the Isle of Wight. Our technology includes everything from mechanical and biological treatment, traditional mass-burn energy from waste and material recycling technologies to in-vessel composting, advanced thermal treatment, innovative small-scale energy from waste and anaerobic digestion. In a single year we process 300,000 tonnes of waste that is turned into energy. This generates the same amount of energy as approximately 600 million solar panels. Similarly we recycle circa 95,000 tonnes of waste.
