We are committed to providing high-quality patient care, and we are seeking an experienced theatre practitioner to join our team in the Children's Theatres Department. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The specialities we cover include neurosurgery, scoliosis, cardiac, cardiac catheter, interventional radiology, oncology, general, urology, ear, nose and throat, orthopaedics, renal, plastics, burns, dental, maxillofacial, laparoscopic and endoscopy.

Job Responsibilities

This is a Band 5 post and requires a broad knowledge and experience of clinical nursing practice within a hospital environment. You will need to have a strong interest in the clinical area and demonstrate competence in clinical skills relevant to the role.

You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing surgery. Your duties will include preparing patients for surgery, administering anaesthetics, and assisting during procedures. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with patients, carers, and the multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Broad knowledge and experience of clinical nursing practice within a hospital environment
  • Interest in the clinical area
  • Demonstrate competence in clinical skills relevant to the role
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, able to communicate effectively with patients, carers and MDT
  • Competence in calculations for safe administration of medicines/fluids
  • Ability to take the lead, initiate and ensure appropriate action in response to the deteriorating patient
  • Clinical decision making ability
