Are you passionate about education and making a positive impact on people's lives? Do you have a strong background in teaching and leadership? We're seeking a dedicated and experienced Local Education Manager to join our team at HMYOI Deerbolt.

As a Local Education Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving excellence in teaching and learning within the prison. You will be responsible for managing and coordinating education services, working closely with the prison governor and leadership team. Your expertise will ensure that the quality of delivery is maintained, and you will be accountable for driving excellence in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate education services within the prison, working closely with the prison governor and leadership team.
  • Ensure the quality of delivery is maintained, with accountability for driving excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Manage inspections, including OFSTED, to ensure compliance and quality standards.
  • Lead and manage the team within the site, with direct responsibility for Hub Managers and administrative colleagues.
  • Shared responsibility with the Contract Lot Manager for the allocated budget for the site, approximately £1M - £4M.
  • Hold a teaching qualification, minimum Cert Ed or PGCE.
  • Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Leadership and management qualification at Level 4 or above.
