We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our education team as a Local Education Manager at HMYOI Deerbolt. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in driving excellence in teaching and learning, ensuring the quality of delivery is maintained, and managing the day-to-day running of the education service within the prison.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate education within the prison, working closely with the prison governor and leadership team.
  • Ensure the quality of delivery is maintained, with accountability for driving excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Manage any inspections, including OFSTED.
  • Lead and manage the team within the site, with direct responsibility for the Hub Managers and administrative colleagues.
  • Shared responsibility with the Contract Lot Manager for the allocated budget for the site, approximately £1M - £4M.
  • Teaching qualification - minimum Cert Ed or PGCE.
  • Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.
