The successful candidate will lead the cover team, effectively supervising classes by coordinating and deploying daily cover arrangements for staff absences. They will ensure the cover team embeds previous learning and maintains a focused, distraction-free environment. The role also involves line management, performance assessment, and being the primary point of contact for the cover team's needs and priorities. Additionally, the Cover Supervisor Lead will be responsible for the administration of cover, including taking phone calls and messages, recording staff absences, and liaising with SLT to ensure necessary arrangements are in place. They will also instruct students using prepared resources and foster supportive relationships with pupils.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the cover team in ensuring effective supervision of classes by coordinating and deploying daily cover arrangements.
  • Embed previous learning and maintain a focused, distraction-free environment.
  • Line manage the cover team, assessing performance and being the primary point of contact.
  • Administer cover, including taking phone calls and messages, recording staff absences, and liaising with SLT.
  • Instruct students using prepared resources.
  • Foster supportive relationships with pupils.

Requirements
  • GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English at a C grade or above.
  • Previous experience working with children, including those with complex needs or challenging behaviour.
  • Ability to manage student behaviour according to the College's policies and procedures.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Passion for education and commitment to improving student learning outcomes.
