We are recruiting for an experienced Educational Assistant - SEMH to work with our dedicated team in Dunstable. As a passionate advocate for students with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), you will play a crucial role in empowering them to reach their full potential in a supportive and inclusive setting.

About the Role:
  • You will work closely with our committed team to provide high-quality support to students with PMLD, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • You will assist in developing and implementing individual education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers and other professionals.
  • You will also contribute to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment, fostering a positive attitude towards learning among all pupils.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with PMLD in an educational setting.
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to working with students with complex needs.
  • Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or other communication methods is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and safeguarding policies.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning, SEN diploma, or equivalent).
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
