About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Education Support Assistant to join our Computing Department at The Bedford College Group. As an integral member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the educational, personal, and social needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attending to the educational, personal, and social needs of students, including providing support for students with special needs.
  • Giving first aid or medicine when necessary, adhering to college procedures.
  • Promoting and supporting the inclusion of all students in learning activities.
  • Assisting with preparation for college visits and supervising students on these visits, in collaboration with tutors and managers.
  • Supporting the teaching of English, maths, or other curriculum areas as required, working closely with Learning Area Leads and Managers.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • English and Maths or equivalent qualifications at GCSE grade A-C.
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
  • A minimum of six months' experience working with children or young people in an educational setting within the last five years.
  • An understanding of the educational needs of children and young people.
  • The ability to plan and develop educational activities.
  • The capacity to work collaboratively with others and independently.
  • Familiarity with using IT in a classroom setting.

What We Offer:

In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer a competitive salary range of £24,000 (pro rata) DOE and Qualifications, as well as access to the People's Pension and retail discounts. This is a permanent, full-time position with a 37-hour working pattern.
