Job Overview

Our theatre unit provides care for adult patients, undertaking specialist services such as the treatment of bone infection, musculo-skeletal tumours and limb reconstruction.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Develop the ability to work effectively at a more senior level, making effective decisions based on all available information and guiding the rest of the theatre team to deliver high quality care to our patients.
  • Develop negotiating and motivational skills, actively participating in the development of yourself and other staff.
  • Ability to analyse audits, incident reports and risk, taking appropriate action to remedy.
  • Has specialist knowledge across a range of orthopaedic areas and desirable that you have at least years experience.
  • Act as a resource for the development and implementation of LocSSIPs, Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Supports the evaluation and implementation of Trust, Divisional and Directorate Quality Priorities.
  • Manage change effectively, establishing appropriate goals and delivering change in a realistic time frame (problem solving).
  • Acts as a role model for professional values and behaviours and supports other staff in their learning and education.
  • Ability to develop and demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Human and material resources management will be within the scope of practice of a senior practitioner. Acting as shift coordinator.
