Pension Scheme Specialist

At Aptia Group, we are seeking a highly skilled Pension Scheme Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting clients and scheme members on complex queries and calculations. Your expertise will be utilized to peer review and check calculations, ensuring the highest level of accuracy. You will also be responsible for communicating with clients and scheme members via letter, email, and telephone, as well as understanding scheme details and performing complex pension calculations. Additionally, you will be required to enter pensions data to the required standard, check calculations, and use MI reporting to monitor progress. You will also be responsible for ensuring errors, omissions, and complaints are handled in accordance with agreed procedures and timescales. Furthermore, you will be required to monitor project income and deliver client projects on plan and to budget. Your ability to identify opportunities to generate additional revenue and discuss implications of technical developments and legislative changes will be highly valued. You will also be required to have experience liaising with clients and trustees, as well as the ability to perform complex pension calculations and peer review to a high standard of accuracy. You will possess strong knowledge of member calculation processes, DB scheme knowledge, scheme types, and governing legislation issues. In-depth knowledge of UK pensions legislation is also essential. Good communication and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze and improve processes, are also required. A relevant professional qualification, such as PMI, is desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

Support clients and scheme members on complex queries and calculations

Peer review and check calculations to ensure accuracy

Communicate with clients and scheme members via letter, email, and telephone

Understand scheme details and perform complex pension calculations

Enter pensions data to the required standard

Check calculations and use MI reporting to monitor progress

Ensure errors, omissions, and complaints are handled in accordance with agreed procedures and timescales

Monitor project income and deliver client projects on plan and to budget

Identify opportunities to generate additional revenue and discuss implications of technical developments and legislative changes

Liaise with clients and trustees
