Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Tradewind Manchester is supporting a two-form entry primary school in Sale, Trafford to recruit for their Small Specialist class. This is a long-term position starting in September 2024, with the potential for a permanent contract for the right candidate.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Teaching Assistant to support Reception/KS1 aged children with Autism in our specialist unit. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children who display challenging behaviour and be able to provide a calm and patient approach. The children in our care tend to push boundaries and lash out, so we require a resilient and determined individual who is passionate about making a difference.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support children with Autism in our specialist unit
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to develop and implement behaviour management strategies
  • Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers to ensure consistency and support
  • Contribute to the development of individual education plans and behaviour plans
Requirements
  • Dedicated, resilient and proactive approach
  • Experience working with children with Autism and challenging behaviour
  • Ability to start ASAP and commit to the full academic year
  • Full-time availability
  • Enhanced DBS disclosure and overseas police clearances (if applicable)
