Environmental Protection Officer Job Description

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Lead a team in delivering commitments to appraise planning applications, licensing applications, and construction projects for noise pollution and nuisance issues.
* Provide specialist advice on environmental protection and noise pollution matters to colleagues and other departments.
* Hold a caseload of pollution cases requiring specialist acoustic knowledge and experience.
* Respond to tight deadlines, conflicting priorities, and fast-changing circumstances.
* Identify possible cases, make decisions, and implement safeguarding referrals as necessary.

**Requirements:**

* Hold an Environmental Health Registration Board approved academic qualification (MSc, BSc (Hons), or Diploma in Environmental Health or equivalent).
* Post-qualification experience of noise work.
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
* Institute of Acoustics Certificate of competence in Environmental Noise Measurement or obtain within 6-9 months.
* Possession of a clean full driving licence.

**Contract Details:**

* Initial 3 to 6 month ongoing contract with the opportunity to extend.
* PAYE via Umbrella.
* Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
