Environmental Protection Officer - Temporary Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Environmental Protection Officer to join our team in Havering. As a key member of our environmental protection team, you will play a vital role in safeguarding the environment and ensuring public safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate complaints related to environmental protection and statutory nuisance, taking charge of areas such as noise/acoustics, statutory nuisance, air quality, and contaminated land.
  • Provide valuable input on licensing and planning applications, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Carry out appropriate enforcement actions and respond to nuisance complaints, serving notices as necessary and supporting court proceedings.
  • Manage a diverse enforcement caseload effectively, balancing in-office and remote work with site visits as required.
Requirements:
  • Full driver's licence, own vehicle, and business insurance (mandatory).
  • Registered Environmental Health Practitioner or relevant professional qualification (desirable).
