The Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Edwards & Pearce. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for solar PV and EV installations, as well as commercial and industrial infrastructure applications.

The Electrical Design Engineer will create technical drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports for each project, using industry standards and best practices. They will also collaborate with other engineers, contractors, clients, and stakeholders to ensure the quality, safety, and efficiency of the electrical design and installation.

The role will require occasional site visits and inspections, as well as keeping up to date with the latest technologies and regulations in the field. The Electrical Design Engineer will contribute to the company's innovation and growth by delivering high-quality electrical solutions that meet the client's needs and expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing and developing electrical systems for solar PV and EV installations, as well as commercial and industrial infrastructure applications
  • Creating technical drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports for each project
  • Conducting site visits and inspections as required
  • Collaborating with other engineers, contractors, clients, and stakeholders to ensure the quality, safety, and efficiency of the electrical design and installation
  • Keeping up to date with the latest technologies and regulations in the field
  • Assisting Sales, Contracting and O&M divisions with technical designs
  • Contributing to the company's innovation and growth by delivering high-quality electrical solutions that meet the client's needs and expectations
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design and engineering
  • Experience in solar PV and EV systems, as well as commercial and industrial infrastructure applications
  • Experience in using various software tools and applications for electrical design and engineering, such as AutoCAD, Revit, Trimble etc.
  • Experience in HV design
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Full UK Driving license
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards it
  • Health & Safety qualification
  • Project Management Qualification
