About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Art Therapist to join our team at The Farndon Unit, a purpose-built low secure hospital offering personalised assessment and recovery-based treatment pathways for women with complex care needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specialist Treatment: Offer specialist treatment for those who would benefit from psychological therapy but find primarily verbal psychotherapy difficult to access.
  • Assessment and Planning: Assess referred patients and plan Art therapy treatment taking into account risk factors, complexity of presentation, patient's need, and service priorities.
  • Collaboration with the Team: Contribute specialist knowledge to the overall care plan for each patient through contribution to clinical meetings and written reports.
  • Research and Evaluation: Support the team in conducting research, audit, and evaluation, particularly in areas of clinical relevance aimed at improving quality of service and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Registration with the HCPC.
  • Experience of working with clients with complex needs relevant to the population in the service area.
  • Experience of managing emotive situations.
