Mountain Warehouse Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Buyer to join our international buying team. As an Assistant Buyer, you will play a crucial role in sourcing and purchasing products for our global markets, working closely with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement seasonal range plans, taking into account customer buying patterns, sales forecasts, and market trends.
  2. Manage relationships with suppliers, negotiate prices, and ensure compliance with our quality standards.
  3. Collaborate with the Head of Buying to optimize our product range, drive sales growth, and improve profitability.
  4. Monitor and analyze sales data, identifying opportunities to improve our product offerings and drive business growth.
  5. Provide excellent customer service, responding promptly to customer inquiries and resolving issues efficiently.
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging market opportunities.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as an Assistant Buyer, preferably in an international retail environment.
  2. Strong commercial acumen, with a deep understanding of market trends and competitor activity.
  3. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  4. Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  5. Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and able to analyze complex data sets.
