About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Submarine Safety Expert to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Safety & Environmental team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on submarine safety matters and ensuring the implementation of safety considerations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance on safety engineering processes and practices to project managers and engineers.
  • Develop and review safety arguments, including physical and functional safety analyses, using relevant regulations and standards.
  • Manage and maintain safety case documentation and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
Requirements
  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in safety engineering, preferably in the defense or aerospace industry.
  • Strong knowledge of safety engineering tools, processes, and regulations (e.g., DEF STAN 00-56).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from £100,000 to £130,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including a pension scheme, annual leave allowance, and flexible working arrangements.
