Job Description

Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Job Summary:

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to work with a SEMH school in Hampshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting students with SEMH needs, providing individualized support and developing positive relationships with students, teachers, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, developing strategies to promote positive behavior and engagement
  • Work closely with teachers to implement lesson plans and provide additional support to students
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, and staff, promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of behavior management strategies and plans
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for students

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong knowledge of behavior management strategies and plans
  • DBS clearance
