Purpose of the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team at Example Recruitment. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in leading the growth plan and expanding our client's business.

The ideal candidate will have a strong current knowledge of the construction industry and a solid reputation. You will oversee the bid process, manage current and future tenders, and be instrumental in securing new projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the first point of contact with clients during the tender stage.
  • Manage current and future tenders, collaborating with the in-house Operations Team and subcontractors.
  • Price tenders using a combination of subcontractors and the direct labor pool.
  • Prepare tender handover packs for the Operational and Commercial delivery teams.
  • Assist in maximizing project profitability.
  • Develop and maintain relationships to open new revenue streams in line with company targets.
  • Maintain an awareness of the broader business and service offerings, effectively communicating with clients and customers as needed.
Requirements:
  • Relevant degree qualification or HNC.
  • Experience in construction and refurbishment works.
  • Experience pricing projects ranging from £500k to £5m.
  • Competence in carrying out measurements, take-offs, and first principle calculations.
  • Proficiency in package analysis following initial tender inquiries to ensure no scope gap.
  • Thorough understanding of standard forms of contract, including JCT and NEC.
  • Ability to create headline/tender programs.
  • Proficiency with IT, including Microsoft Office and estimating packages/tools.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Capacity to manage a high workload volume with a flexible approach.
  • Excellent presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Effective communication at all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Motivation to stay updated with industry changes and developments.
What We Are Offering:
  • Base salary ranging between £80,000 to £100,000 per annum, depending on experience.
