Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Job Type: Temporary

Location: Remote (with occasional on-site visits)

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a primary and secondary school setting. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide individualized support to pupils with SEND, helping them to achieve their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to pupils with SEND, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals
  • Deliver engaging activities and interventions to support pupils with SEND, including drama and arts-based activities
  • Work with the class teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for pupils with SEND
  • Support pupils with SEND to develop their social and emotional skills, including SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health)
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including therapists and support staff, to provide a comprehensive support package for pupils with SEND

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEND, particularly SEMH
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach
  • Passion for working with children and a commitment to providing high-quality support
