About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Quality and Performance Officer to join our team at the NHS. As a key member of our Data Quality Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data held across the Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Trust in meeting the data requirements of clinicians, hospital managers, commissioners, and Trust Board.
  • Monitor and promote data quality throughout the Trust, taking steps to improve areas of concern as highlighted by Local, Regional, and National monitoring.
  • Develop detailed and precise Data Quality guidance documents to the specified standard for trust-wide dissemination, including departmental policy and procedures, strategy, and standard operating procedures.
  • Work as part of the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) programme to ensure that patient-related data held within the Trust is accurate and complete to enable reliable and robust reporting to support clinical and business processes, statutory information, and income generation.
  • Adapt and improve local systems and procedures around data collection/input, audit, and analysis so that they continue to meet the needs of the teams.
  • Provide support to the Data Quality Improvement Manager, and stand-in for the Data Quality Improvement Manager as required.
Person Specification
  • Minimum of 2 years office experience
  • Awareness of current NHS issues
  • Experience of working with a wide range of staff at all levels
  • Proven success at delivering against objectives and deadlines
  • Experience of PAS/EPR (Lorenzo/Cerner)
  • Experience/involvement in Data Quality activities (e.g. validation or audit) NHS Experience
  • Experience and understanding of NHS analytical tools
  • Experience of databases and the ability to extract data
  • Understanding of the 18-week referral to treatment target
  • Understanding of SUS processes
Qualification(s) and Professional Training
  • Educated to GCSE level within Maths and English
  • Evidence of continuing personal development
  • Willingness to undergo further training
  • NVQ level 3
  • ECDL Qualification or equivalent
  • Excel Qualification
