About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Work Placement Officer to join our Careers, Work Experience & Progression team at Leeds City College. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting students to secure work placements that enhance their employability skills and career prospects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with students, employers, and curriculum departments to identify and secure work placements that meet the needs of our students.
  • Deliver placement-based sessions to students, providing guidance and support to ensure successful completion of work placements.
  • Manage a caseload of students, providing regular check-ins and support to ensure they are meeting their placement goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers, promoting the benefits of work placements and securing new opportunities for our students.
  • Contribute to the development of employability skills and career guidance programs, ensuring our students are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the workplace.

About You

  • You will have a strong understanding of employability skills and the importance of work placements in supporting student career development.
  • You will have experience of working with young people, either in an educational or employment setting.
  • You will be an excellent communicator, able to build strong relationships with students, employers, and colleagues.
  • You will be highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • You will be passionate about supporting students to achieve their career goals.
