As the Sonobuoys Engineering Manager you will be responsible for successfully delivering engineering activities to time, cost and quality across all engineering aspects of the sonobuoys portfolio. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring that solutions meet requirements and are fit for purpose.
The growing Sonobuoys portfolio spans new product development, in-service support and products that are already in production. This senior role will suit someone with a background in sonar or acoustics who has extensive experience of work package management.
Key Responsibilities- Manage teams of teams to deliver engineering activities to time, cost and quality
- Review, challenge and defend engineering estimates
- Create Work Breakdown Structures and define delivery strategies
- Produce engineering plans with dependencies, assumptions, risk and opportunities identified, communicated and managed
- Understand the different design gates a project goes through, from bid to full scale production readiness review
- Coach and/or mentor team members
This role requires eligibility for Security Check (SC) clearance (ideally with no caveats).
We have three sites: Greenford, Loudwater and Weymouth. This is a hybrid role giving you the flexibility to balance working from home and being on-site as necessary, with occasional UK travel.
To be successful in this role you are likely to need to be regularly on site at Greenford e.g. a couple of days per week.
