Job Summary:

Hydro International is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Operations Specialist to join our Hydrometry and Monitoring team. As a Field Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for visiting various sites, primarily undertaking field measurements of water quantity (flow), depth, quality, rainfall, etc. Additionally, you will be responsible for installing, operating, and maintaining telemetry logging equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field measurements of water quantity, depth, quality, and rainfall at various sites.
  • Install, operate, and maintain telemetry logging equipment.
  • Collect and record data using various instruments and equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Hydrometry and Monitoring team to ensure accurate and reliable data collection.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and data delivery.

Requirements:

  • Passion for working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Comfortable working in water, strong swimming skills.
  • Confidence in working at heights, such as using ladders, and ease in working within confined spaces.
  • Good level of computer literacy (MS Office applications – Word, Excel).
  • Valid UK driving license with a satisfactory driving history.
  • Demonstrates awareness of potential risks and safety protocols.
  • Holds GCSE qualifications or their equivalent in Geography, Maths, and English, or a background in an environmental-related discipline.
  • Experienced in hands-on tasks, including use of power and hand tools.
  • Willing to travel as required.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Possession of a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant environmental field (e.g., Environmental Science, Geography, Geology, Outdoor Education, etc.).
