Warehouse and Showroom Operative

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Warehouse and Showroom Operative to join our team at Directions Recruitment Specialists. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our warehouse and showroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and processing goods in and out of the warehouse, including deliveries from various sources and ensuring all deliveries are reported to relevant personnel.
  • Packing and despatching goods as required, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensuring all areas of the warehouse are kept clean and tidy, with fire exits kept clear of obstructions.
  • Opening and closing/locking the side entrance gate each morning/end of day.
  • Ensuring the forklift is kept charged and maintaining the security of the warehouse.
  • Assisting the showroom staff as and when needed, including unpacking of sample boxes, labelling of products, and general light maintenance duties.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a warehouse environment.
  • Forklift licence preferred but not essential.
  • Flexible and understanding approach, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage own workload, working effectively as an individual or as part of a team.
  • Computer literate, with intermediate skills in MS Office/Excel.
