Pharmacy Technician

The Pharmacy Technician plays a pivotal role in supporting clinical pharmacists, community pharmacists, and other members of the Primary Care Network multi-disciplinary team. This position is part of an exciting program of transformation to develop a new model of care that addresses our ambition to deliver person-centered, coordinated care across the Network.

• Lead improvements to maximize safe, cost-effective best practice in prescribing to improve the quality of patient care.
• Help patients get the best from their medicines by switching medications to agreed and approved protocols.
• Improve repeat prescribing processes in General Practice, including promotion of repeat dispensing and online ordering.
• Minimize clinical risk and aim to reduce wasted medicines.
• Encourage the development of better understanding of the principles of medicines optimization throughout the practice teams.
• Promote good practice in line with therapeutic developments.

Riverside Surgery is a purpose-built practice in the heart of the community, providing high-quality care to nearly 24,500 patients. We are a Training Practice, host medical students and nurses, and offer work placements. Our team is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and is committed to continuous improvement.

• Professional Registration with GPhC
• NVQ Level 3 or Higher In Pharmacy Services or BTEC Qualification
• Experience of working in a pharmacy and primary or secondary care
• Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Packages
