About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and driven Teaching Assistant to join our team in a secondary school in Cwmbran. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and other staff to provide effective assistance and contribute to the overall positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with autism in a small class setting
  • Create a positive and encouraging environment that is engaging for pupils
  • Build trusting relationships with staff and pupils, offering social and emotional support when required
  • Show understanding and adhere to the school's safeguarding policies
  • Assist in preparing new learning materials where required
Requirements
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced Child Only DBS Certificate (we can help you obtain this)
  • To be registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council)
  • Two professional references covering 24 months
  • Level 2 Safeguarding (provided by Teaching Personnel)
About the School

The school is based in Cwmbran and educates children from the age of 11 up to 16. The school has two dedicated class bases to support pupils with hearing impairments and autism. We are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to help support pupils with Autism within the ASD Base.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'. This may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
