Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Associate Specialist / Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in the Nottingham area. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert assessments, developing risk assessment and management plans, and contributing to the development of modern Community Mental Health Services.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide Expert Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments for patients with mental health difficulties referred by General Practitioners from the designated catchment area or transferred from other services within the Trust.
  2. Develop Risk Assessment and Management Plans: Collaborate with the Multidisciplinary team, service user, carers, and other involved agencies to develop and implement effective risk assessment and management plans.
  3. Liaise with Mental Health Teams: Proactively communicate with other mental health teams and primary care to ensure continuity of care and appropriate information sharing.
  4. Contribute to Service Development: Contribute to the development of modern Community Mental Health Services, including the development and implementation of care planning.
  5. Provide Bio-Psychosocial Interventions: Deliver evidence-based bio-psychosocial interventions to promote recovery and social inclusion.
  6. Teaching and Training: Involvement in the teaching of junior doctors and medical students.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. We are happy to issue Certificates of Sponsorship to suitably qualified overseas doctors.
