Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

GE Aviation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Engineer, Mechanical Design and Development to join our team. As a key member of our Advanced Mechanical Design (AMD) Team, you will play a critical role in the design and development of our next-generation Open Fan architecture.
Key Responsibilities:- Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
- Use high-level judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.
- May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
- Experience in design engineering, with a focus on composite component design.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles, as well as product/program requirements.
- Master's degree in engineering or a related field.
- Composite design, test, and manufacturing experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects and establish project management skills.
- FMEA experience, including ANSYS solver, Hypermesh software, and CAD Modeling via NX PLM Teamcenter software.
- Programming skills in C++, Matlab, Python, or other equivalent software.
- Demonstrated leadership in defining the state of the art in at least one technical specialty, along with the ability to teach and set standard practices within composite Aerospace and/or Aviation products.
