Job Title: Academic Human Resources Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academic Human Resources Officer to join our team at Selwood Housing Group.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will provide invaluable advice and support to both employees and management, ensuring we stay on top of employment laws and best practices. This role will have an emphasis on employee relations and requires strong experience in that area. You will also get to flex your skills as a generalist, handling a diverse range of HR functions such as performance management and policy development, as well as spearheading change initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide HR advice and support to employees and management
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and best practices
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures
  • Manage employee relations and resolve conflicts
  • Conduct performance management and development
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the business on people-related projects

Requirements:

  • CIPD qualification level 3 or above
  • Previous experience as a HR advisor or similar role, with a deep understanding of HR principles and practices
  • Strong experience in Employee Relations
  • Knowledge of employment policies and case law
  • Experience and confidence to advise and influence others
  • An organised approach with strong attention to detail
  • Experience using people metrics
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organisation.
