Eames Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineering Lead to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance to a team of developers, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Java developers, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and coaching to ensure the team's technical expertise and skills are up-to-date.
  • Collaborate with product management and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that meet the needs of our clients.
  • Architect and design scalable, reliable, and maintainable Java-based applications that meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
  • Define coding standards, best practices, and development methodologies to ensure high-quality software delivery and consistency across the team.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to improve code quality and consistency.
  • Identify technical challenges and propose innovative solutions to address them, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies, tools, and trends in Java development.
  • Work closely with QA engineers to ensure comprehensive test coverage and timely resolution of issues.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure effective team collaboration and communication.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in Java software development, with a strong track record of technical leadership and team management.
  • Previous experience in a technical leadership role, leading teams of developers and driving technical innovation and excellence.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, with a deep understanding of its ecosystem and a proven ability to design and develop scalable, reliable, and maintainable Java-based applications.
  • Experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, etc.) and Hibernate, as well as proficiency in web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.
  • Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, etc.), with a solid understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
