An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the Radcliffe Department of Medicine at the University of Oxford. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of Dr Paul Holloway, focusing on developing new models of cerebrovascular disease using microfluidic techniques and iPSC technologies.
Project OverviewThe post holder will contribute to a multidisciplinary project exploring the role of pericytes, astrocytes, and endothelial cells in contributing to barrier dysfunction and extracellular matrix disruption in monogenic forms of cerebral small vessel disease. This project is a collaboration between the Holloway lab and the lab of Dr Alessandra Granata (University of Cambridge).
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will require a relevant DPhil or be within 1 month of submission. You will need to have knowledge and experience with mammalian cell culture and basic molecular biology techniques, including qPCR and immunocytochemistry. Expertise in iPSC cell culture and differentiation, as well as experience with using and developing microfluidic and organ on chip techniques, is highly desirable.
