Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and flexible Classroom Support Professional to work as a Cover Supervisor in East Sussex secondary schools.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable classroom experience, with the flexibility to work as much or as little as desired.

Responsibilities
  • Supervising classes in the absence of the permanent teacher, ensuring students remain on task and engaged.
  • Providing assistance to students when needed, while not actively teaching the curriculum.
  • Implementing the school's behaviour management strategies to maintain a conducive learning environment.
  • Adapting to different classes and subjects throughout the day, typically spending one lesson with each group of students.
  • Working across various schools in East Sussex, with the potential for regular supply work during busy periods.
Requirements
  • Experience as a cover supervisor is advantageous but not essential.
  • For graduates, a degree in any discipline, demonstrating your capability to work in an educational setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to follow school policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff and students.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to daily tasks.
