Job DescriptionAbout the Role

As a key member of our team, you will provide site-based engineering support to ensure the uptime and availability of our automated equipment. With a focus on preventative and corrective maintenance, you will utilize your technical expertise to minimize downtime and optimize system performance.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on all onsite automated equipment.
  • Conduct planned repairs and reactive repairs of automated material handling equipment.
  • Perform fault-finding and diagnosis of mechanical and/or electrical faults.
  • Respond to automation faults and breakdowns in a timely manner to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Prioritize system faults and optimize uptime and availability of onsite automated equipment.
  • Complete all reports in line with requirements using CMMS and Microsoft software packages.
  • Comply with health and safety legislation as a top priority.
  • Participate in the delivery, installation, commissioning, and testing of upgrades and enhancements.
  • Maintain optimum levels of onsite spare parts.
  • Support site meetings as required.
  • Mentor, train, and advise junior members of the team.
Requirements
  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
  • Experience of working with automated material handling systems.
  • Ability to work at height.
  • Capable of understanding Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Electronic technical manuals and drawings.
  • Proven competence in H&S.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of control systems and techniques.
  • Ability to work in a time-critical environment.
  • Effective time and workload management skills.
  • PC literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
