Element Materials Technology, part of the Element Group, is expanding its Fire Resistance team with opportunities for a Technical Assistant on our weekday shift.

Job Description:

As a Technical Assistant, you will be performing a variety of fire tests on items such as roller shutter doors, fire doors, and building materials. Our testing determines whether our clients' products perform as intended.

You will receive a competitive salary of £28,000 per year, along with our enhanced holiday, pension, and benefits package.

Liaising with clients, contractors, and third parties during construction of test specimens is a key aspect of this role. Preparation of test specimens in accordance with the requirements of the appropriate Standard and internal procedures under supervision is also required.

Evaluating the performance of the specimen/s in accordance with the requirements of the appropriate test standard, where appropriate and under supervision, is another important responsibility.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Interest in materials testing.
  • Possess a valid FLT license desired.
  • Ability to work to an alternating shift pattern: Monday to Friday 6am - 2pm and Monday to Thursday 10am - 8pm.
