Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Pipeline Engineer to join our team at Metroworth Consulting Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting piping stress analysis on Caesar II and providing technical direction to the piping stress team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting piping stress analysis on Caesar II and underground and aboveground pipelines.
  2. Static equipment nozzle loading evaluation and piping stress analysis against ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, and CSA Z662.
  3. Responsible for piping material purchase for technical and engineering quality portions of documents.
  4. Piping analysis on major stream pipeline stress, including high-pressure stream lines, produced emulsion lines, produced gas or vapor lines, and natural gas lines.
  5. Responsible for producing plant plot plans and overall plot plans (piping portion).
  6. Technical direction to the piping stress team members as required.
  7. Compliance with company and client standards for piping engineering.
  8. Evaluation of mechanical equipment documents, such as MRs and vendor documents, for piping material and components.
  9. Field engineering review at construction sites as support for construction when required.
  10. Providing support and input on multidiscipline documents, such as LDTs, P & IDs, etc.
  11. Generating MSDs based on process conditions.
  12. Responsible for piping technical design and basic piping information, such as pipe wall thickness, hydro-test procedures, pressure and temperature conditions, and winterization conditions.
  13. Providing input to piping value engineering into designs.
  14. Identifying stress-related potential problems on pipelines and process piping.
  15. Pipe support selection and design.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Piping Engineering or a similar field.
  2. At least 8 years of engineering experience, with field experience being an asset.
  3. Industry experience in Oil & Gas (SAGD) or other relevant fields, such as Mining, Pipelines, Gas treatment, Gas compression package, Refinery, or Upgrader.
  4. Professional Engineer (APEGA PEng) certification, with the ability to authenticate piping documents and drawings.
  5. Piping Stress Analysis, Piping, and piping components material selection experience.
  6. Experience in detailed designs for piping systems.
  7. Analytical and strategic thinking to solve problems and technical issues.
  8. Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  9. A strong commitment to teamwork and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
