This is a substantive post working 27 hours per week, based at Scarsdale in Chesterfield, with a requirement to travel to GP practices across Derbyshire.
Main ResponsibilitiesAs a Pharmacy Technician, you will be working with a number of GP practices across Derbyshire to deliver prescribing-related cost efficiencies in line with agreed standard operating procedures.
You will provide education, advice, and support to practices and care homes to improve the safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness of patient care.
You will retrieve, analyse, interpret, and present patient-related prescribing and clinical data from practice clinical computer systems and written notes to inform clinical decisions about medicines.
You will implement prescribing changes and inform patients, practice staff, and local communities.
You will deliver education to healthcare professionals, care home, and social care staff, patients, and the public to promote effective medicines use.
You will liaise with GPs, secondary care, community social care, community pharmacy, patients, and carers to deliver medicines optimisation.

RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- Education to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of experience working in a specialist area.
- BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent.
- Registration with the GPhC.
- Demonstrable post-qualification experience in hospital, primary care, or community pharmacy.
- Experience of working with care homes and primary care.
- Skills for communication on complex information and administrative matters, requiring developed interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
- Conflict resolution skills and the ability to resolve issues in a prompt and professional manner.
- Skills for manipulating information, advanced keyboard skills, and use of a range of software.
- Ability to work on own initiative and organise own workload with minimal supervision, working to tight and often changing timescales.
- Ability to work as part of a team and work flexibly to provide support to other departments and teams as and when necessary.
- Demonstrate the behaviours that underpin the ICB's core value of 'One Team'.
