Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Operating can manufacturing equipment to achieve plant KPI targets
- Maintaining equipment within their area of responsibility to ensure quality standards are met and downtime is minimized
- Carrying out quality checks and taking corrective actions as necessary
- Maximizing production and minimizing spoilage during the manufacturing process
- Performing safe repairs to equipment as required
- Setting up checks after maintenance work
- Reporting potential problems to the Shift Manager or relevant Department Heads
- Maintaining housekeeping to an exemplary standard and in a safe condition throughout the plant
- Complying with legal, environmental, and safety requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- A recognized Time Served Apprenticeship in a Manufacturing Mechanical Engineering discipline
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety work practices
- Experience of preventative and planned maintenance on production equipment
- Experience of working on production machinery
- Ability to work precisely with strong attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work alone under their own initiative
- Ability to work well under pressure and organize and prioritize their workload
- Basic knowledge of quality and hygiene systems
- Enthusiastic and proactive approach
