Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Operating can manufacturing equipment to achieve plant KPI targets
  • Maintaining equipment within their area of responsibility to ensure quality standards are met and downtime is minimized
  • Carrying out quality checks and taking corrective actions as necessary
  • Maximizing production and minimizing spoilage during the manufacturing process
  • Performing safe repairs to equipment as required
  • Setting up checks after maintenance work
  • Reporting potential problems to the Shift Manager or relevant Department Heads
  • Maintaining housekeeping to an exemplary standard and in a safe condition throughout the plant
  • Complying with legal, environmental, and safety requirements
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A recognized Time Served Apprenticeship in a Manufacturing Mechanical Engineering discipline
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety work practices
  • Experience of preventative and planned maintenance on production equipment
  • Experience of working on production machinery
  • Ability to work precisely with strong attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work alone under their own initiative
  • Ability to work well under pressure and organize and prioritize their workload
  • Basic knowledge of quality and hygiene systems
  • Enthusiastic and proactive approach
